How are Wheel Stops and Speed Bumps used?

Wheel stops are used to prevent vehicles from encroaching into opposite parking spaces, or into a wall and other structures found within parking lots. They are also necessary as a form of protection for pedestrians by limiting the distance of encroachment from parking spaces to walkways. Speed bumps, are typically installed to reduce the speeds of vehicles which will generally improve the overall safety within that specific area.
